DISASTER PREP CHECKLIST

In the face of nature's unpredictability, preparedness is our greatest ally. Although this checklist is for all disasters, prioritize prep now, as hurricane season approaches. Taking the time to assemble essential supplies can save lives. A well-prepared kit ensures you and your loved ones are equipped to weather all life's storms safely.

WATER:

1 Gallon Water Per Person Per Day - for at Least 4 Days

1 gallon for cooking per day for at least four days

At Least 4 Days of Water for Each Pet

Fill all Bathtubs with Water to Flush Toilets if Needed

Water Bucket or Pail

FOOD:

Non-Perishable Packaged or Canned Food to last up to 14 days

Canned Powdered Milk

Cereal or Oatmeal

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Bread and Crackers

Baby Formula & Specialty Food

Instant Coffee or Tea

Trail Mix & Granola Bars

Instant Noodles (Ramen)

Snack Food

Pet Food

Manual Can Opener and Bottle Opener

Paper Towels, Plates, Cups, Bowls

Disposable Utensils or Chop Sticks

MEDICAL AND PERSONAL:

First-Aid Kit

Two-Week Supply of Prescription Medications

Two-Week supply of Vitamins / OTC Medications

Antibacterial Hand Soap

Large Pair of Metal Scissors

Mosquito Repellant with Deet

Chlorine Bleach

Soap, Shampoo, Hygiene Products

Diapers & Baby Wipes (if needed)

Toilet Paper

Sunscreen

Dust Mask (one per person)

Sanitary Wipes

Sunburn Relief Lotion

HOME ESSENTIALS:

Flashlight (at least one per person)

Candles / Solar Lights

Wood or Metal Window Coverings

Hardware to Secure Window Coverings

Battery or hand crank NOAA Weather Radio

Batteries for Electronics and Flashlights

Solar or Car Charger for Mobil Phone

Ice Chest and Ice for Storage

Grill with Propane or Fuel

Waterproof Matches and Lighter

Sealed Waterproof Container for

Important Documents (Insurance, Medical, Social Security, ID Cards, Emergency Numbers)

Fire Extinguisher or Fire Blanket

Clothing (Include Pants & Long Sleeved Shirt)

Duct Tape, Tarp or Plastic Sheeting & Rope

Garbage Bags and Zip-Top Bags

Basic Tool Kit

Emergency Whistle

Blanket & Sleeping Bag Per Person

Camp bed / air bed

Paper Local Maps

Cash (ATM's and Credit Card Machines Don't Work Without Power)

Gasoline for Vehicle & Generator

Sandbags for Exterior & Interior Doors & Garage Doors
